Here’s a peek into my contrasting stay at a luxurious five-star hotel for ₹20,000 (about $240 USD) and a one-star hotel that came with a few unexpected perks.
The Five-Star Paradise: Where Luxury Knows No Bounds
As soon as I arrived at the five-star hotel, the luxury was undeniable. For around ₹20,000 ($240 USD), I was greeted by a warm, inviting room complete with soft, plush bedding that felt like a hug from a cloud. Multiple pillows were spread across the bed, almost inviting me to dive in. Oh, and mirrors—plenty of them—perfect for taking in the lavish surroundings.
Room Highlights
The room wasn’t just any hotel room; it was practically a palace. A small dining table, sofa, LED TV, and even a personalized area to brew tea or coffee awaited me. The bathroom was like something straight out of a spa. With a jetted bathtub (yes, a jacuzzi!) and high-end amenities, I felt like I’d stepped into a private wellness retreat. Upon arriving, they informed me that my room was unavailable, and I had to shell out extra, bringing the total to around ₹3,000 ($36 USD). As I walked in, I was greeted by an LED TV covered in dust, a mirror that hadn’t been cleaned in ages, and a wardrobe that seemed to have… an aroma. Yep, the room wasn’t just cheap; it had “character.”
Not-So-Luxurious Amenities
The bathroom was, let’s say, minimalist. There were spiders in the corners, and I noticed a few mysterious stains. And then there was the bedding, with a blanket that looked like it had been around since the hotel first opened.
Embracing Both Worlds
